Reproductive Freedom for All endorses Jake Johnson
Today, Reproductive Freedom for All, formerly known as NARAL, endorsed Jake Johnson in Minnesota’s first congressional district.
“Healthcare decisions should be made by patients and their doctors, not politicians and insurance companies,” said Jake Johnson. “Like most Minnesotans, I believe we should restore the protections guaranteed under Roe v. Wade. While Brad Finstad wants to ban abortion without exception, threaten access to IVF, and rip away healthcare from Minnesotans, I will fight to make healthcare more accessible and affordable for hardworking families.”
“As a public school teacher, Jake Johnson has dedicated his career to public service and lifting up the next generation of leaders,” said Mini Timmaraju, President and CEO of Reproductive Freedom for All. “Minnesotans deserve a leader who is fighting for their rights and futures – not an extremist like Brad Finstad, who is more focused on passing a dangerous national abortion ban than lowering costs. Rep. Finstad’s priorities are wrong for Minnesota, and Reproductive Freedom for All is proud to endorse a champion like Jake Johnson.”
Rep. Brad Finstad was one of 131 Republicans to co-sponsor the Life at Conception Act, which, according to reporting in The Washington Post, would “ban nearly all abortions nationwide” and threaten access to IVF treatments. Finstad also supported the overturning of Roe v. Wade. Last year, Finstad voted to kick approximately 22,000 of his constituents off of their health insurance, making it even harder for southern Minnesotans to access and afford healthcare.
