Dan Feehan Endorses Jake Johnson
Former two-time congressional candidate Dan Feehan is endorsing Jake Johnson in his campaign for Congress in southern Minnesota.
Today, Dan Feehan – veteran, former Pentagon official, former teacher, Mankato resident, and two-time congressional candidate in southern Minnesota – announced that he is endorsing Jake Johnson in his campaign for Minnesota’s first congressional district.
“Jake shows up for his neighbors the same way he shows up for his students: prepared, principled, and ready to solve problems,” said Dan Feehan. “Jake embodies the hard‑work ethic and sense of duty that define southern Minnesota. He’s the kind of servant‑leader who will fight to lower costs, protect rural healthcare, and make sure Washington answers to working families, not big corporations.”
Feehan joined the Army after the 9/11 attacks, completing two combat tours before teaching in underserved schools and serving as Acting Assistant Secretary of Defense at the Pentagon. As the DFL candidate for Minnesota’s first congressional district in 2018 and 2020, Feehan spent nearly four years traveling the district, hearing firsthand about the challenges with healthcare costs, political corruption, and unfair treatment of farmers and veterans. Focusing on these issues, he came within just 1,315 votes of winning in 2018, and outperformed the Presidential ticket by 7 points in 2020.
“From the battlefield to the classroom, Dan Feehan has dedicated his life to lifting others up,” said Jake Johnson. “His track record of public service is truly admirable, and I’m honored to carry forward this spirit of service as we build a coalition of working families across southern Minnesota.”
