PRESS RELEASE

Jake Johnson Casts His Ballot on Election Day

This morning, math teacher Jake Johnson cast his ballot at Bamber Valley Elementary School, closing out an 18-month campaign for Congress in Minnesota's first congressional district that started with a math teacher with no shot of winning, and has become one of the ten most competitive House races in the country. Jake voted at a public school, just ten minutes from where he grew up in Stewartville and in the same school district where he has taught for 20 years.

"It felt great to walk into the polls this morning and vote alongside my neighbors," said Jake Johnson. "For the past 18 months, folks across southern Minnesota have told me the same thing: they're working harder than ever and still falling behind on groceries, healthcare, and utilities. They deserve a congressman who shows up, listens, and fights for them, and that's exactly what I'll do. If you haven't voted yet, polls are open until 8 PM. Go vote, and bring a neighbor with you."

Jake will spend the remainder of the day barnstorming the district, with stops planned in Mankato, Zumbrota, Wanamingo, and Rochester.
