Former Republican Gov. Arne Carlson Endorses Jake Johnson
Former Republican Governor Arne Carlson today endorsed Jake Johnson for Congress, citing Johnson’s commitment to fiscal responsibility, government reform, and representing working people over wealthy special interests.
“Right now, over 80% of Americans do not trust their government and that must change, and change now. That is why I am endorsing Jake Johnson for Congress. I know he will go to bat for term limits, work towards a balanced budget, and represent the people and not just the wealthy interests,” said Arne Carlson, former Republican Governor and State Auditor of Minnesota.
“I’m so honored to have Governor Carlson’s support in our campaign,” said Jake Johnson. “He has always put fiscal responsibility and the public interest ahead of party. Both parties have contributed to the mess in Washington, and we need leaders willing to balance the budget, cut waste and corruption, and make government work for ordinary people again. That is exactly what I intend to do in Congress.”
This endorsement comes right after Johnson released his Taxpayer Protection Pledge, a seven-part plan to make the math add up in Washington again, and highlighted his plan to tackle the federal deficit.
