PRESS RELEASE

Highest Inflation in Three Years Shows Cost of Finstad's Tariffs and Iran War Support

New inflation data released this morning shows prices rising to 4.2%, the highest level in three years and the third consecutive increase since the start of the Iran War. Energy prices drove much of the increase, with higher food and clothing costs also adding to the bleak picture.

Jake Johnson, who is raising four boys on a teacher and paraprofessional’s salary, said southern Minnesota families are paying the price for bad decisions in Washington.

"Brad Finstad voted for the tariffs and the Iran War, both of which are driving up costs right here in southern Minnesota," said Jake Johnson. "Now we’re paying more at the pump, more at the grocery store, and more for everyday necessities. The people of southern Minnesota want to end the tariffs and the Iran War, and that’s what I’ll vote to do if I’m elected to Congress."

Finstad has repeatedly backed tariffs that are costing the average household over $1,700 per year, and threatening the livelihood of small businesses and soybean farmers across southern Minnesota. Finstad has voted four times against bipartisan efforts to require congressional approval for continued U.S. involvement in Iran. Finstad has taken over $175,000 from defense and energy sector corporate PACs.
