PRESS RELEASE

End Citizens United Endorses Jake Johnson

Jake Johnson refuses to take corporate PAC money, while his opponent Rep. Brad Finstad is bankrolled by big corporations.

End Citizens United (ECU), a leading national anti-corruption organization, today endorsed Jake Johnson in Minnesota’s 1st Congressional District. Johnson is part of Unrig Washington, a program launched by ECU in which candidates reject corporate PAC money, support a ban on congressional stock trading, and work to end dark money in politics.

“I’m grateful for the endorsement of End Citizens United,” said Jake Johnson. “While too many career politicians are using their office to benefit the donors who help them stay in power, I’m running for a different reason. I’m committed to fighting corruption so that people in our district can worry less about affording their daily necessities. I look forward to working with End Citizens United so that we can bring down costs and make the government work for our communities.”

“Jake Johnson has served his community his whole life, and he is ready to bring that commitment to Congress,” said End Citizens United President Tiffany Muller. “Minnesotans are facing a cost of living crisis driven by corporate greed and a broken system that prioritizes the highest bidder. Jake is rejecting corporate PAC dollars because he will stand up for his constituents rather than wealthy special interests. We are proud to endorse him and look forward to helping him win in November.”

Jake has received $0.00 from corporate PACs, which is a stark contrast to Finstad.
