Jake Johnson Celebrates Relief for Southern Minnesota from Unconstitutional Tariffs that Brad Finstad Supported at Every Opportunity
Today, the Supreme Court ruled that the President overreached his constitutional authority in imposing the sweeping tariffs that raised costs across southern Minnesota.
“Today’s decision is a huge win for southern Minnesota,” said Jake Johnson. “For the past year, Brad Finstad voted over and over to protect these unconstitutional tariffs even when they raised costs and harmed our communities. Today, the Supreme Court has finally put the responsibility back on Congress to do its job, but it’s already clear where Finstad stands: not on the side of our farmers, families, or small businesses.”
Recent research shows that these reckless tariffs have cost the average American household over $1,000 per year, and threatened the livelihood of small businesses and soybean farmers across southern Minnesota. Meanwhile, Finstad has repeatedly backed these tariffs instead of showing any independence on an issue that disproportionately harms his constituents in southern Minnesota.
