Brad Finstad Votes for Tariffs Making Life More Expensive in Southern Minnesota
This evening, Representative Brad Finstad voted to keep the tariffs that are making life more expensive in southern Minnesota. Despite a bipartisan coalition voting to stop the “national emergency” used as justification for these cost-raising tariffs on Canada, Finstad once again refused to stand up for southern Minnesota.
“These massive tariffs are raising costs across southern Minnesota, and Brad Finstad is wrong to vote to keep these tariffs,” said Jake Johnson, who is running for Congress against Finstad. “Our consumers, farmers, and small businesses are paying the price for having a representative who copies and pastes his vote based on what party leadership tells him to. We need an independent voice in Washington who will stand up to any president, regardless of party, when they are taking actions that make life more expensive in southern Minnesota.”
Recent research shows that these reckless tariffs are costing the average American household over $1,000 per year, and threatening the livelihood of small businesses and soybean farmers across southern Minnesota. Meanwhile, Finstad has stood behind these tariffs instead of showing any independence on an issue that disproportionately harms his constituents in southern Minnesota.
