Jake Johnson Says We Cannot Afford Another Endless War in the Middle East

Jake Johnson, candidate in Minnesota’s first congressional district, issued the following statement today after the United States attacked Iran:

Statement from Jake Johnson:

“We cannot afford another endless war in the Middle East. Today’s strikes against Iran risk putting our service members in harm’s way and sending the United States down the path of another open-ended conflict that could cost trillions of dollars, all while families here at home continue to struggle to make ends meet.

“Iran must never obtain a nuclear weapon. But a brazen and unlawful rush toward war is not the way to prevent that. I am praying for the safety of our troops carrying out these attacks, and Congress must act immediately and pass a War Powers Resolution to stop this conflict from escalating further.”
