Jake Johnson for Congress

PRESS RELEASE

Another Poll Shows MN-01 Is a Dead Heat

With less than two weeks until Election Day, another poll shows math teacher Jake Johnson in a dead heat with Congressman Brad Finstad, the latest sign that Finstad is highly vulnerable in Minnesota’s first congressional district.

The poll, conducted by Public Policy Polling from October 13–14, shows Johnson and Finstad tied at 43 percent each. In a memo released this morning, HMP named MN-01 as one of 13 pickup opportunities beyond the traditional battleground. This comes after a KAAL/SurveyUSA poll found Jake up 2 points last Monday, and Cook Political Report and Larry Sabato’s Crystal Ball both moved the race in Jake’s favor within the last week.

“This race is so close because Brad Finstad is selling us out in Washington while he refuses to hold a single town hall here in southern Minnesota,” said Jake Johnson. “Voters are realizing that he can’t defend his votes to raise costs, give tax breaks to data center companies, and to gut rural healthcare. We are going to win this race because Southern Minnesotans are demanding a representative who will make life cheaper and easier for their families.””
