Jake Johnson Holds Town Hall in Winona County

WINONA, MN — On Tuesday evening, Jake Johnson held a town hall meeting with well over 100 attendees in Winona, Winona County. The meeting was open to all members of the public, was widely advertised beforehand, and had no pre-screening of questions. Questions ranged from how Jake would make life more affordable, tackle the national debt, support our public schools, and deal with the challenges posed by data centers.

“It was great to host a town hall meeting in Winona and hear from people about the concerns they’re facing in their lives,” said Jake Johnson. “This was our third town hall, which means we’ve now done three more town halls than Brad Finstad has done in his entire time in Congress. And we’ve still got 18 more planned for the rest of this summer.”

Jake was introduced by Nancy Denzer, a Winona Area School Board member and a former colleague of Jake’s; she spoke highly of Jake’s capacity to be a good leader. As many voters know, Finstad instead opts for what he calls “tele town halls”, which are unannounced phone calls that only go to a set of preselected individuals chosen by Finstad’s office, where they can hear Finstad respond to questions with no proof that those questions are not presubmitted.
