Jake Johnson Launches Second TV Ad, "Farmland"
Today, Jake Johnson launched "Farmland," the second television ad of his campaign for Congress. In the ad, Jake lays out how Rep. Brad Finstad took money from a Chinese state-owned corporation and from data center companies, and voted to let them buy more farmland, build more data centers, and get billions of dollars in tax breaks.
You can watch the ad here.

The ad begins airing today on broadcast and cable TV, on streaming, and on digital platforms across southern Minnesota, running alongside the campaign's first ad, "Minivan." It is funded by a grassroots campaign that hasn't taken any money from corporations, which is a stark contrast to his opponent Rep. Brad Finstad, who has taken nearly half a million dollars from corporate PACs.
"We have some of the best farmland in the world, and it should be worked by Minnesota families, not bought up by China or paved over for data centers that raise our utility bills," said Jake Johnson. "But Brad Finstad took their money and then voted to help them, right down to billions in tax breaks that ought to be going to the people who actually live and work here. That's the corruption I'm running to end.”
Filmed across the farm fields of southern Minnesota, the ad follows Jake driving his minivan past the farmland at the center of the fight. In it, Jake lays out how Finstad took $20,000 from a Chinese corporation that's buying up our farmland and then voted to let them buy even more, and took $28,000 from data centers while voting to let them build right here and to give them billions of dollars in tax breaks. Jake closes with a line that summarizes his belief that big corporations should be paying more in taxes and working families should pay less in taxes: "I approve this message because we should be getting the tax breaks."
