Jake Johnson Holds Town Hall in Blue Earth County

MANKATO, MN — On Saturday evening, Jake Johnson held a town hall meeting with nearly 200 people in Blue Earth County. The meeting was open to all members of the public, was widely advertised beforehand, and had no pre-screening of questions. Jake answered questions on a wide range of topics, such as supporting Medicaid and food shelves to how to build a movement that brings in Republicans, Independents, and Democrats alike.

“We had great conversations at our town hall meeting in Mankato tonight,” said Jake Johnson. “The people of Blue Earth County deserve a congressman who will show up, listen to concerns, and answer any questions. It’s the same mentality I’ll bring to being a member of Congress, so that I can actually be successful in fighting to make life cheaper and easier in southern Minnesota.”

As many voters know, Finstad instead opts for what he calls “tele town halls”, which are unannounced phone calls that only go to a set of preselected individuals chosen by Finstad’s office, where they can hear Finstad respond to questions with no proof that those questions are not presubmitted.
