Jake Johnson Named an “Unrig Washington” Candidate
Jake Johnson, a political outsider running for Congress in Minnesota’s first congressional district, has been named as a 2026 Unrig Washington candidate by End Citizens United. This builds on Johnson’s campaign to make life affordable in southern Minnesota by taking on the corruption in Washington that stands in the way of policies to bring costs down.
“Life is too expensive, but our elected officials are too focused on serving their corporate donors so they can line their own pockets and keep getting reelected,” said Jake Johnson. “I’m running to make government work for working families, not the wealthy and well connected.”
Jake’s inclusion on this list reflects his commitment to refuse all contributions from corporate PACs, to ban members of Congress from trading stocks, and to crack down on dark money in politics. As a lifelong southern Minnesotan, a public school teacher of 20 years, and a first-time political candidate, Johnson is focused on serving the people of southern Minnesota, not the special interests of Washington.
