Jake Tours Minnesota State College Southeast, Speaks to Importance of Trade Schools and Community Colleges

RED WING, MN — On Tuesday, Jake Johnson toured Minnesota State College Southeast, hearing firsthand about the financial challenges for both students and for community and technical colleges. He then met with local volunteers to launch a doorknock, sending them out to talk to their neighbors about the election in a week.

“I’m grateful to the Dean of Students for giving me a tour of Minnesota State College Southeast,” said Jake Johnson. “Our local trade schools and community colleges equip students with the skills they need to succeed in the modern workforce, but these educational institutions keep being underfunded. In Congress, I will be a strong advocate for strengthening these programs that help students realize their full potential, just like the public schools I attended helped me live my American Dream.”
