Jake Johnson Raises Over $470K in the First Quarter of 2026
Public school teacher and first-time candidate Jake Johnson has now raised over $1.2 million since launching his campaign in MN-01.
Today, Jake Johnson announced that he has raised over $470K in the first quarter of 2026 without taking a dime from corporations. Since launching his campaign in Minnesota’s first congressional district, Johnson has now raised over $1.2 million and received over 22,000 individual donations.
“I’m incredibly grateful for the grassroots support behind our campaign to lower costs, take on corruption, and invest in small towns across southern Minnesota,” said Jake Johnson. “We’re building this campaign without taking a dime from corporations, so that when I get to Congress, I can fight for the people of southern Minnesota, not the multinational corporations that are buying off politicians and ripping us off.”
These latest fundraising numbers add to Johnson’s growing momentum in MN-01. In February, a poll found that Johnson was within just 3 points of Finstad, and the Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee added this district to its list of “districts in play” for the 2026 midterms. Johnson’s fundraising has doubled from last quarter, powered by an influx of new grassroots donations. Over 94% of the contributions to his campaign are $100 or less, and most of the contributions to his campaign come from individuals in Minnesota.
