Jake Johnson Holds Town Hall in Waseca County

NEW RICHLAND, MN — On Thursday evening, Jake Johnson held a town hall meeting with over 50 people in New Richland, Waseca County. The meeting was open to all members of the public, was widely advertised beforehand, and had no pre-screening of questions. Questions covered topics such as expanding access to telehealth, ensuring adequate funding for food shelves and caregivers, and tackling the national debt.

“I appreciated the chance to hear from folks in New Richland and the broader Waseca County area,” said Jake Johnson. “We had many good conversations at our town hall, which was the fourth town hall of the 21 we’re hosting this summer. I’m proud of the campaign we’re building where we’ll go everywhere and listen to everyone, so that I can truly represent the people of southern Minnesota in Congress.”

Jake was introduced by Joni Churchill, who is a high school secretary who lives in New Richland. As many voters know, Finstad instead opts for what he calls “tele town halls”, which are unannounced phone calls that only go to a set of preselected individuals chosen by Finstad’s office, where they can hear Finstad respond to questions with no proof that those questions are not presubmitted.
