Jake Johnson Holds Town Hall in Fillmore County

LANESBORO, MN — On Monday evening, Jake Johnson held a standing-room-only town hall meeting with nearly 100 people in Lanesboro, a town of ~750 people, filling the venue’s space out the doors and into the hallway. The meeting was open to all members of the public, was widely advertised beforehand, and had no pre-screening of questions. Questions and discussions covered topics like the absurdly high cost of healthcare, the data centers and power lines popping up across southern Minnesota, and the tragic loss of 18 service members and tens of billions of taxpayer dollars because of the Iran War.

“Thank you to everyone who came out to our town hall in Lanesboro last night,” said Jake Johnson. “I appreciated the chance to hear from everyone and talk about the issues that are vital to the people of southern Minnesota. We’ve got another town hall tonight, and we’re going to keep going to host a town hall in every county in our district this summer.”

Jake was introduced by David Hennessey of the Commonweal Theatre Company. As many voters know, Finstad instead opts for what he calls “tele town halls”, which are unannounced phone calls that only go to a set of preselected individuals chosen by Finstad’s office, where they can hear Finstad respond to questions with no proof that those questions are not presubmitted.
