Jake Johnson Outraises Rep. Brad Finstad — Again
For the second straight quarter, Jake Johnson received more contributions than Rep. Brad Finstad’s campaign committee. In net contributions, Jake Johnson for Congress raised over $244,000 in Q3, while Finstad for Congress received less than $220,000 in the same period.
Finstad’s latest FEC filing shows that he received approximately $40,000 from corporate PACs in Q3. That includes donations from companies like Koch Industries and Boeing — big multinational giants that buy off politicians at the expense of working people. One of Finstad’s corporate donors this quarter, Prime Therapeutics, is a controversial pharmacy benefit manager that drives up the cost of prescription drugs and limits patients’ access to care.
“It’s the same story every quarter: Brad Finstad refuses to hold a single town hall with his constituents, but he clearly has time for his corporate donors,” said Jake Johnson, a lifelong resident of Minnesota’s first congressional district. “Our campaign is raising money the clean way so that we aren’t beholden to any special interests.”

Johnson has now raised over $500,000 in under six months. His campaign is powered by over 10,000 individual donations, with the average donation being under $50. Most of his donations come from Minnesota, and the latest round of FEC filings shows that Johnson has far more individual donors from Minnesota than Finstad does.
“The people who fuel this campaign are the ones fixing our power lines, running our small businesses, and caring for our families,” said Jake Johnson. “They’re the reason we’re proving, quarter after quarter, that shadowy corporate PACs won’t get the final say in southern Minnesota.”
